UFC legend Robert Whittaker has revealed that he is considering a switch to the light heavyweight division.
As we know, Robert Whittaker is an absolute icon in the world of mixed martial arts. He is a former champion, he is incredibly popular and he has been there against a number of incredibly tough guys. After losing Khamzat Chimaev and Reinier de Ridder, however, some have wondered where he fits in with the comparison in the middleweight division of the UFC.
For the longest time now, fans and experts have wondered whether or not Robert Whittaker should make the leap until 205 pounds. Although it would certainly not be easy, it would certainly give him some really interesting, fresh battles and opponents that he could assume.
In one Recent interviewRobert Whittaker touched the idea of going to the light weight, and why he is potentially hesitant to cross the tractor.
Robert Whittaker regards slightly heavyweight as
“Yes, maybe. Maybe. I’ve thought about it lately. Difficult to say. I feel that everyone says that I am a small middleweight, but it costs me a lot from me, regardless of whether I am a small middleweight. It takes me a lot to make the middleweight division.
“I feel better to be heavier, but I have short arms and I am not super long, and I don’t like to fight long boys, and there are many tall boys in the light heavyweight division, you know. But Johnny Walk also had a good victory at the weekend. It’s good to see him up. So I don’t know. Let’s wait.”
Whittaker is a great hunter and although he might no longer be at his best, you just know that he has made a big effort against a series of light heavyweights like that is what he chooses to do.
