With the performance, Robert Lewandowski became the fourth oldest player ever to score a hat-trick in La Liga. The striker reached the milestone at 37 years and 80 days, further underlining his elite level despite his veteran status.

He also became the oldest player inside Barcelona history to record a hat-trick in La Liga. The competition’s all-time list includes only the Real Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano (37 years, 255 days), Real Betis icon Joaquin (38 years, 140 days) and that of Granada Jorge Molina (39 years, 241 days) were older when they achieved this feat.

Lewandowski started the 2025–26 season sidelined with injury and later missed extra time after a controversial setback during October’s international break with Poland kept him out of El Clasico. On his first start since his return, he reminded the competition of his class: bringing his total to seven goals, after Kylian Mbappé’s thirteen.
