A Gold Coast mansion with a waterfront tennis court has been named the most iconic property listing on realestate.com.au this month, giving buyers the chance to gather, volley and unwind in style.

If you dreamed of perfect service at home during the Australian Open, you’ll love these striking properties with their own tennis courts.

The Sorrento mansion was named the most iconic listing on realestate.com.au this month, with viewers choosing between four homes that fell under the theme ‘epic mansions with tennis courts’. Image: realestate.com.au

Ranking first in the first realestate.com.au ‘iconic list’ social media survey for 2026 – which asked viewers to vote for their favorite epic mansion with a tennis court – was this seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom Gold Coast showstopper at 16-18 Marseille Court, Sorrento.

Just as impressive as Carlos Alcaraz’s last match, this 2,603 m² tropical resort estate, with 74 meters of prime waterfront, features its own boathouse and slipway – so your guests can arrive in style for a hit.

The illuminated tennis court takes center stage, surrounded by palm trees and the soft water of the River Main. And after you’ve worked up a sweat, take a dip in the Italian glass-tiled pool or jump off your private pontoon.

The house itself is the ultimate trophy – for an undisclosed price. This four-story masterpiece, designed by renowned architect John Patterson, features a grand entrance and an impressive butterfly staircase leading to a luxurious mix of formal and informal living spaces, all enveloped in glass with spectacular water views. Terraces on every floor, including a 360-degree roof terrace, offer panoramic views of the Gold Coast, plus the tennis action below.

Each of the seven lavish suites is a private retreat, complete with a balcony, walk-in robe and private bathroom. The master suite has double dressing rooms, a Botticino marble bathroom, a private lounge, a kitchenette and a private outdoor terrace.

An entertainer’s paradise, it also features a luxury Gaggenau kitchen, billiards room and sleek salon bar, plus a self-contained penthouse with its own kitchen, cinema and cocktail lounge for post-match celebrations.

Agent Robert Cucio of Zed Real Estate Mermaid Beach said the house had been on the market for two years and the sellers – an adult couple – are now looking to downsize.

He said the interest came mainly from international customers and investors.

“Most properties on the Gold Coast in this price range are in that modern style. This is more of a classic townhouse in design and layout,” he said. “It’s a great home for someone who wants a statement property, something really extravagant.”

The second mansions in our social survey – and their tennis courts – were just as impressive.

In fact, one of them is a castle that inspired the name of a suburb.

Innisfallen Castle at 14 Cherry Place, Castle Cove, on Sydney’s lower north shore, is made of locally quarried sandstone and has a round stone tower at each corner.

With eight bedrooms, a self-contained guest wing and a championship-sized tennis court set amid park-like gardens, this 8,333 sq m Middle Harbor estate – being offered for the second time in 120 years – could be yours for around $60 million.

If you like tennis courts by the water, another option is this Grade II listed Mornington Peninsular estate at 4 Denistoun Avenue, Mount Eliza. This 5-bedroom Victorian villa-style mansion features wrap-around verandas and views over Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne skyline.

This Mount Eliza estate is for sale for between $15 and $16.5 million. Image: realestate.com.au

Listed at a price range of $15 million to $16.5 million, the 6,067-square-foot residence offers numerous recreational options, including an infinity pool and spa, a swimming pavilion, an in-ground trampoline, and of course, a fantastic tennis court with modern grass, perfect for sunsets.

Another runner-up in our survey was this French-inspired mansion in Brisbane’s prestigious outback, for which ‘epic’ almost seems like an understatement.

Set on over an acre, 685 Musgrave Road, Robertson is prestigious, grand and opulent – like the perfect grand slam party. Listed for between $25 and $30 million, this luxury home offers opulent formal spaces, seven luxurious bedrooms, an indoor heated pool and a beautiful lighted tennis court surrounded by European-inspired gardens.

The theme of the iconic homes that will be voted on next month will be Australia’s most epic beach houses, with the winner to be announced at the end of February.
