A big thank you goes to the great team at the River City Waterway Alliancewhose recent volunteer work has had a major impact on our local area.
Over the past several months, this dedicated group of fifteen volunteers has worked tirelessly to clean up seven miles of Arcade Creek, which extends east of the Haggin Oaks property. Their mission to restore Sacramento’s waterways took them to the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex this week, where they cleared debris from the creek that runs through the golf course on Monday and Tuesday.
The results are nothing short of astonishing. The team removed an astonishing variety of waste, including:
- Tires and rims
- Sofas and furniture
- Sewing machines
- Carpet, metal, sinks and wood
- Plastic, clothing, cardboard
- And about 60 large bags of waste
Thank you for their efforts, Arcade Creek is now completely clean and much healthier for both nature and the community.
Their work not only beautifies our property, but also supports a cleaner, safer and more sustainable Sacramento. On behalf of everyone at Haggin Oaks, we extend our sincere appreciation to the River City Waterway Alliance for their passion, hard work and dedication to protecting our local environment.
Together we make our world cleaner and healthier, one creek at a time.
