Revanth Reddy’s Big Delimation Charge: BJP looking for revenge on South

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accused the BJP of taking revenge on the south through the proposed definition of delimitation and urged the center to keep an all-party meeting on the issue. Speaking in the India Today Conclave 2025, Reddy said through delimitation, which will adjust parliamentary constituents on the basis of the population, the BJP wanted to reduce the representation of the south in parliament.

“The BJP has no representation in the south. That’s how it is Taking revenge through demarcation. The BJP wants to finish the south through this exercise that only benefits northern states“said the congrie leader.

Although the BJP returned to power for a third consecutive term after winning the Lok Sabha election of 2024, it has not succeeded in breaking the South Fort. Of the 240 seats it won in the Lok Sabha polls, it only took 29 in the south. Moreover, it does not have its own government in a southern state and it is a junior partner in Andhra Pradesh.

Reddy’s tough speech about delimitation comes at a time when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has performed his attack on the center on the proposed exercise. On Friday, Stalin wrote a letter to Chief Ministers of Seven States, including Revanth Reddy, to form a joint action committee (Jac) against the delimitation exercise.

In the center of the row, the concern is that the Southern States will lose the seats in parliament, and with that his voice, because of the reserved exercise for successful implementation of the measures of the population control.
