The playing days of AQ Shipley are over, but he is by no means less busy – he has T -shirt times to try to squeeze. The former NFL center and the father of three (all younger than 7) works in the game (a fixed value on the Pat McAfee show) and, more importantly, tries to play as much wave as he can.
He recently added a golf simulator to the children’s playroom and tries to sneak in practice or rounds like most father’s drop-off from the daycare center and before picking up.
“The swing is ok; I’m going to get a lot better,” says Shipley, a 9 -handicap that was the guest on the Golf subper podcast of this week. “I smash it from the tee, driver is the best club in the bag. I wear it 300.”
He says that his accuracy still needs work (“I can’t control the face,” he says) but recently shot an 81 during a two -day trip to Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, one of the best and most lush golf courses in the United States.
“The ride up like Augusta feels,” said Shipley. “You drive through that and you are, oh, where am I going. It was incredible. It was too good. Only the whole experience was incredible.”
Shiepley also looks at a lot of golf. The Pittsburgh, Pa., Native was even open at the US at Oakmont and led in all events, especially the play -offs of Majors and Fedex Cup.
