Rescue operations in full swing in Cloudburst-hit Kathua Village: Jitendra Singh

Union Jitendra Singh, Minister of Union Jitendra Singh, said on Sunday that the civilian government, military and paramilitary troops were taken into action to perform life and auxiliary operations in the Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir, where four people died in a cloud burst.

The Cloudburst hit a remote village in the Kathua district, causing four people to death and six others were injured.

The Cloudburst met the village of Jod Ghati in Rajbagh during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, access to the village and caused damage to land and property, they said.

“Speaked with SSP Kathua sh. Shobhit Saxena after receiving information about a Cloudburst in the Janglote area,” Singh wrote on X.

He further said: “Four victims were reported. Moreover, damage was noticed at the track, National Highway, while Kathua police station has also been hit.” The civilian government, military and paramilitary troops have been taken into action, he said, adding that the situation is constantly being checked.

“My sincere condolences in the families of the deceased,” he added.
