The Richmond Weatherboard Jacqui Ellett turned into a luxury entertainer that is sold for more than $ 3 million under the hammer.
After almost 20 years in Richmond, Jacqui Ellett has her family house farewell, a weather board that she turned into a luxury entertainer, with an auction result of more than $ 3 million on Saturday.
The ownership of Murphy St. was led to $ 2.7 million $ 2.9 million and sold above the top of his reach, viewed by a crowd of around 150 spectators.
Mrs. Ellett bought the house six years ago and undertook what she described as a work of love, pouring time and money into a high -quality renovation that changed the dated cottage at one level to a contemporary oasis.

“Natural light was my non-negotiable-I wanted openness, current and that calming feeling that you get when a house breathes,” she said.
“I have invested more in the renovation than for which it was sold, but I see it as a strong result for everyone.
“The buyers have a beautiful house, and I can now chase the tree change that I long for.”
She said an auction day was filled with mixed emotions.
“It is absolutely bittersweet. This has been such a nice house to live in, and after almost 20 years of saying goodbye is difficult.” But I am also enthusiastic about what the next step is. “
The transformation trip was grim. Before the works, the house was a dated weather board with a tired kitchen, closed rooms and a bare back garden.
The front bedroom for renovation, with a dated layout and dark shades that naturally limit light.
The main bedroom after the renovation shows wooden floors, clear finishes and seamless current around the original fireplace.
Now it has a Skylit Stone Kitchen, Expansive Open-Plan Living and an outdoor zone in resort style with a gas-heated swimming pool, Spa and Alfresco deck.
“I love organic details – the wooden floors, the stone bank sheets, which create details, warmth and a sense of quality,” said Mrs. Ellett.
“For me it’s all about a house that feels effortless, light and inviting.”
In the past: the backyard of Richmond was bare and under -used and offered little attraction to the outdoors.
After: a gas-heated swimming pool, spa and cover turned the outdoor zone into a private resort-style retreat.
Brad Cooper from Ray White Balwyn, who led the campaign and called the auction, said four bidders fought for the keys.
“It was an exceptional campaign – the sun was shining, the crowd was buzzing and it was the dream of an auctioneer,” said Mr. Cooper.
“With a swimming pool, Alfresco -Deck and nearly 500 m² of land, the house offered lifestyle without a compromise. That rarity fed the competition.”
He said that the timing also played a role, with limited shares, strong approval percentages and a recent interest rate that stimulates buyer momentum.
The former kitchen was closed and outdated and was missing space and electricity to the living room.
A skylit stone kitchen with slender cupboards and open design became the center of the house.
Mrs. Ellett, who moves to Donvale near the Mullum Mullum Trail, said she would miss the cafe culture and friendships of Richmond the most.
“Richmond has such a lively lifestyle, the coffee spots, the restaurants, the energy of the community, which will be the most difficult part to leave behind,” she said.
The extension added a living hub that flows to the deck of the Alfresco and the entertaining space.
