Stephen King -story about a teenage miracle that wakes up in a mysterious facility goes to a second season.
Horror series The Institute Was renewed this week for a second series.
“The institute has made the public enthusiastic with its distinctive stories and exceptional performances that skillfully bring the single voice of Stephen King to the screen,” said Michael Wright, head of MGM+. “We are so happy that we can continue this hair -raising journey and dive even deeper into the secrets of The Institute In season two. “
The series tells the story of teen prodigy Luke Ellis (Joe Freeman), who is abducted and wakes up in a mysterious facility full of children who have arrived under more comparable sinister circumstances and all have strange supernatural skills.
The cast also includes Mary-Louise Parker, Simone Miller, Fionn Laird, Jason Diaz, Jane Luk, Julian Richings and Robert Joy.
“We have been so satisfied with the reaction to our first season, which is proof of the dedication of our fantastic cast and crew,” said Bender and Cavell in a statement. “We are very happy that Michael Wright and everyone at MGM have enabled us to continue the powerful and timely story of Stephen. From the start of this project we had the feeling that there would be much more story to tell, because our brilliant characters continue to make their way through the dangers of the world with which they are confronted.”
