Navajo Tribal Police return to investigate new crimes in the fifth season of AMC.
American crime drama Dark winds has been renewed for a fifth season ahead of the fourth season’s premiere on AMC+.
Season 5, which begins filming in March in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will also consist of eight one-hour episodes debuting in 2027.
Executive produced by Robert Redford and George RR Martin Dark winds stars Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, Jessica Matten and Deanna Allison and follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon), Jim Chee (Gordon) and Bernadette Manuelito (Matten) of the Navajo Tribal Police as they solve mysteries on their reservation as it is besieged by increasingly violent crimes in the 1970s.

Debuting on , the second episode of the new season marks the television directorial debut of star and executive producer Zahn McClarnon (Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn).
The fourth season focuses on the search for a missing Navajo girl, which takes Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito from the safety of the Navajo Nation to the gritty Los Angeles of the 1970s in a race against time to save her from an obsessive killer with ties to organized crime.
S4 premieres Sunday, February 22 on AMC+.
