Some bodybuilding fans may know that Regan Grimes is one of the elite competitors of the sport, but they may not know how long he has been there. His first Olympia was in 2018 as a classic physics athlete. He took eighth in that competition.
Fast forward to 2025, and he grew a bit out of the division. Thanks to a very productive 2024 out of season, the Celsius -athlete has tipped the scales with more than 300 pounds and was solid.
“Certainly a lot of new mass has been added.”
Grow in more than one way
Part of the strategy behind the successful low season of Grimes was that he stepped outside his own training comfort zone. Grimes ventured to other gyms to train with other pros and stars of the industry, such as Antoine Vaillant, Larry Wheels and ruled 212 Olympia champion Kone Pearson to find out more about the keys to their success.
“Sometimes we get stuck in our own way, but it was good to be open and test different methods.
He even followed training programs from Legends of the Past, such as four-time Sandow Trophy winner Jay Cutler’s large training sessions and seven times the intense salon day of Mr. Olympia Phil Heath.
“It was great to test these different methods. Every Olympia winner had its own style,” said Grimes. “Jay is very fast and has a short movement. The earlier athletic career of Phil has helped him for his bey training.”
The result of that dedication was a smarter and better version of Grimes. The application of the different styles and methods helped him to develop his training. He even went old-school when it came to following his training sessions.
“I never really thought that I would go into the gym with a notepad and wrote what I did or lifted, but I now make notes and follow weights. I may not have the notepad with me, but I write them down when I get home.”
Back to the Olympia stage
Grimes New and Improved Physique was presented three times to the fans and jury members in the 2025 season, including a fourth place in the New York Pro and Silver in the Toronto Pro Superershow. He paid off hard work when he claimed gold on the California State Pro 2025 for his Mr. Olympia qualification from 2025 can be earned.
After a short break to recover from his competitions, his sights are now tailored to Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas, NV on 10-11 October when he returns to the Olympia stage for the first time since 2023, when he returns to the Olympia stage. In the top 10, his status in sport catapulted, but now he looks even higher for 2025.
“I feel great and I have been able to grow continuously through the prep.”
He stands in the way four former Olympia champions – reigning title holder Samson Dauda, Derek Lunsford, Hadi Choopan and Brandon Curry. Then there are other opponents such as Nick Walker, Martin Fitzwater and Andrew Jacked. Grimes cannot be out at all if he goes beyond where he was two years ago. That said, he did the work, knows the challenge with which he is confronted, and he is not back.
“The Mr. Olympia is always about more mass, but I feel that I have the shape and can bring the conditioning. I think I have enough added size to bring myself closer to the first place.”
Grimes concluded that there is only one place he really wants and believes that it is for him to reach it before he hangs his tribes.
“The ultimate goal is to win it one day.”

Regan Grimes’ Push Day training
Grimes does not focus on individual bodyparts, but emphasizes the function, such as this “push” training with shoulders, chest and triceps. He also used more intensity and less volume, so that he can finish the intended task in less time.
“I only have to do two work sets now and I am going as heavy as possible with my best form.”
Each work set was failed with partial or assisted representatives. This session was performed for seven weeks of the Olympia 2025. To grasp A Celsius In advance if you plan to try it yourself. Grimes prefers the Peach vibe taste if you need a suggestion.
