Our very own developer guide states

Recognizing the various forms of contributions Our mission is very important to us: we would like to thank you package reviewers and more generally all package contributors, organizations as well as individuals.

We recently expanded our efforts to recognize the different roles involved in publishing a blog post.

New blog roles: editors, translators, interviewees

The metadata of our blog posts now includes:

  • who edited the blog post
  • who translated the blog post
  • who was interviewed for a blog post

Contributors’ “author page” lists their various contributions to the content in the current language (authorships listed first, followed by other roles):

We’re happy to recognize more contributors to our blog.

This differentiation of roles also allows us to analyze in more detail how blog-related collaborations take place between members of our community. This information will allow us to explore different ways to encourage participation from interested parties, including how best to provide the support needed for successful participation.

We also hope that our findings will be useful to other communities in identifying different types of contributions and ways to give credit.

Further work will include more of these contributions appearing in our feed Rogue scholar.
