Recap of the Health Summit again – The Fitnessista

I share a summary of my experience at the A new vision on the Health Summit. If you’re reading this and want to learn more about how to get one Integrative healthcare practitioner, check it out here and use FITNESSTA for up to $250 off. It is by far the best certification I have ever done.

Hello friends!
I hope you are doing well and enjoying the week so far. We have a short school week over Thanksgiving, so we are planning some fun things to do this week. The weather has been a dream, so I’m going to see if I can convince the crew to hit the road.

For today’s post I wanted to share a summary of my trip to Ft. Lauderdale for the A new vision on the Health Summit. It was my second time attending this event – check out last year’s recap here! – and my first time attending as a speaker. I was invited to speak on a panel with three incredible coaches – they all inspired me on my journey as IHP – and even though I was super nervous, it went really well.

Some highlights of the trip:

– Ft. Lauderdale! It was my first time in Ft. Lauderdale, which is surprising because it’s a Disney cruise port and we love Disney cruises – and I thought it was super cute. It reminded me of Jacksonville, one of our favorite beach spots when we lived in Valdosta. I arrived a night early and had time to meet up with one Revenue Rx customer for dinner at Pura Vida,

take a Lagree class,

and having a blowout at Dry Bar, which failed quickly due to the humidity, but I tried lol.

– Dinner with IHP friends. We had a wonderful meal at the hotel’s Lona restaurant, and it was so great to talk in person with so many of the friends I see all the time online and at our EquiLife Ambassador board meetings. We ate tacos and talked, and it was the perfect way to start the trip.

The energy.

There is a special magic in being surrounded by passionate people who have the same mission as you: a desire to help others live their best, happiest, healthiest lives.

– The sessions.

In fact, this year was just for IHPs – they alternate years of public and coach-only events – and there were so many impactful sessions.

Some of my favorites were Dr. Tony’s from Hope 4 Cancer in Mexico,

The keynote from Dr. Cabral:

and Eric Lofholm’s presentation on business building.

– Our panel!!

I was invited to speak on a six-figure health coaching expert panel with some powerful women I adore: Rebecca, Ellen, and Tricia

When I was invited to speak, I didn’t know if I was going to do it. I regularly struggle with imposter syndrome and public speaking is (was?) my worst nightmare. I’m consistent with content creation and all parts of my online business, but at least once a day I think, “What am I doing? Does anyone care? Am I bad?”

I read a book of public speaking strategiesand did a lot of meditation, prayer and visualization. I wanted to do it, but I also didn’t want to faint on stage.

A few things worked in my favor leading up to it:

We were led backstage by Cassie, an absolute angel. Everyone who works at EquiLife is a wonderful person, but Cassie is a particularly bright, beautiful light. (You can see her in this IG live we did here!) She gave us a much needed pep talk before we went on stage and assured us that we had a lot to teach and give to the community.

I took a CBD gummy that was in our swag bag. It was juuuust enough to take the edge off lol.

We prayed together. We held hands and Rebecca said the most beautiful prayer and after that I felt like I could do it.

Moreover, Dr. Cabral a genuinely nice person and it helped that I had spoken to him in the past. I knew he would ask great questions and that he would be easy to talk to, so that part of the panel took a lot of the pressure off.

-The VIP awards dinner.

Thanks to all your incredible support, this trip was gifted to me as the winner of the 100 Day Challenge. I placed number 7 out of more than 5,000 CPIs and was also lucky #7 last year 😉 It means a lot to me that I can be a small part of your health journey and I am so grateful to all of you and all my wonderful clients.

It was so nice to enjoy a delicious meal with other challenge winners, conference speakers and the EquiLife team.

– The exhibition!

It’s a little on the small side, but much higher in quality than some of the conferences I’ve attended. Some of my favorite brands were there, including Higher DOSE and the real salt of Redmond.

One of my favorite goodies in the swag bag: wallet-sized bottles of sea salt

On a personal level, the trip was also a big step for me, because leading up to it I had not been alone for more than an hour since February. When we started homeschooling P, many things changed in our lives. Since then, I hadn’t been alone in our house, let alone in a hotel room. It felt like the days after giving birth – trying to remember what it was like to be alone – and even though parts of me couldn’t wait to get away lol, I was sad as soon as it actually happened.

(My room had enough beds and space for the fam! They’ll come next year!)

At the same time, I felt my creative mojo flowing again for the first time in months, and that was very exciting.

All in all it was a great trip and I’m already looking forward to next year’s RHS.

I hope you have a wonderful day, friends, and I’ll see you soon.

xo
