– Problems with the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s lighting have led to a recall of approximately 62,000 vehicles equipped with turn signals, daytime running lights, low beams and high beams that can malfunction.
Ford blames the problem on the light driver control module B in 2025-2026 Mach-E vehicles.
Obviously losing lights at night is dangerous, but it is also against federal safety standards.
The technical specifications for losing the lighting:
“A faulty non-volatile memory component (NVM) within the LDCMB prevents the module from restarting, resulting in the LDCMB not communicating on the vehicle’s Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. The root cause of the faulty NVM component remains under investigation.”
A Mach-E driver will see an “Advanced Headlight Feature Temporarily Unavailable” warning if the issue occurs. And when using the turn signal, the indicator light will flash faster.
A recall of the Ford Mustang Mach-E in Canada involves 7,000 vehicles.
Interim recall notices for the Ford Mustang Mach-E will be sent between January 26 and January 30, 2026. The second recall letters will be sent prior to the repair, expected in April 2026.
Ford will release an over-the-air (OTA) update or dealers will update the software.
