Grove city, oh – Ready Russell (Ready for Moni) has an impressive start to his Harness racing career.

“He has so much talent that it is pathetic,” said Russell Swartz, who wins 1,999 and helps his wife, Deborah, in the training of Ready Russell. “He is happy all the time and loves his work.”

In addition to a rough show in the Ohio State Fair Stakes, he has done nothing but win and scoring five victories in six seasonal starts. With a victory in each of the first four legs of the Ohio Sires Stakes on his CV, the ready for Moni Velding turned out to be a top candidate for first -year students.

“Everything just fell into place,” said Swartz. “He has been an incredible horse for us. He behaves older than what he is he is really sober and doesn’t let many things excite him.”

Looking for a perfect run through the five legs of the Oss, Ready Russell goes to Eldorado Scioto Downs on Monday to race in one of two $ 65,000 divisions of the fifth stage for first-year student Trotters as part of a 16-raced card from a August 16 to August 2. Monday’s race. Swartz said that the gelding trained well on Thursday and seemed very happy on Friday.

“He has his head from the front of the stall and looks out of the door. His ears are up and his eyes are clear,” he said. “I feel good about Monday.”

Ready Russell opened his run through the Oss with a victory in the first stage at Scioto in 1:55. He won in 1: 56.4 and 1: 56.2 in the second and third legs respectively, both of which were held in MGM Northfield Park. Dan Noble has so far been in the Sulky for all four Oss victories and it was decided to ride again in the fifth stage. Swartz appreciates how Noble Colts learns how to race, and those lessons have so far paid off with Ready Russell.

“Danny can let a horse go, but he has a kind of quiet hand for him, and I always liked that,” said Swartz. “The entire summer I tried to keep the accelerator pedal out of his hand, so that we have something left at the end, and that has worked so far.”

Ready Russell was a pleasure to drive based on Noble’s feedback.

“Danny says he can’t believe how professional he is,” said Swartz. “You don’t have to chase him with the whip. All you have to do is talk to him and he will respond to your voice.”

Outside the track, the winning formula also includes owners Jeff fought racing, Brian Carsey and David Vocht.

“I can’t say enough good things about the owners – they are some of the best owners I’ve ever had,” said Swartz.

Ready Russell has already collected $ 108,800 in income and continues to grow his fan base with every successive victory.

“Last week after he won, when we walked him through people, they looked at him as” Wow! ” And our thumbs up and giving hugs and smiling, “said Swartz. It gives you the feeling that what you do is worth doing. “

Ready Russell was opened as the even money-morning line favorite in the first division of Monday’s Oss and will compete against the will of Ur Ride Is Here (Brady Brown) and Bitcoin King (Tyler Smith), each of whom have one winning victory this season. Your ride here is a victory in the first stage in 1:59, while Bitcoin King came out at the top of the third leg in 1: 58.2. Bitcoin King has so far hit the board in all four legs and finished second in the fourth stage and third in the first and second legs. The Bitcoin King, trained by Chris Beaver, is the 3-1 second choice, while Steve Schoeffel-Stagee UR Ride is opened here with 12-1 chances.

Ready Russell departs from the eight -horse field of Monday from the post -seven post. Although that is perhaps less than ideal, he won from posts six and seven in the previous two Oss legs that were held on Scioto. Swartz loves his chances of coming at the top, but knows that young people can lead to some unpredictable results.

“He is an incredible foal-I can’t say enough good things about him. But at the same time everyone has to remember that he is only a 2-year-old, and 2-year-olds make mistakes,” he said. “Maybe nobody needs to know that more than me because I went to expect the best of him.”

Those expectations are confirmed by the success that Read -Russell has achieved as a consistent winner and earns a lot of praise from Swartz in what the early stages of his racing career are.

“It would mean the absolute world for my wife and me to win the fifth stage. We have 20-smells of horses, and we work very hard on it, and it’s just fun to have one that pays off,” said Swartz. “But even if he didn’t do anything else, I would still say that he is the best travile foal that I have once trained in my life, by far. I have had some nice horses, but this one is incredible.”
