BI MPC 2025 Live Updates, RBI Monetary Policy Meeting Results, RBI MPC Meeting December 2025 News and Live Updates: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept its policy rate unchanged at 5.5% for the second time in a row in the previous MPC, citing concerns over rate uncertainties.

In the fourth bi-monthly monetary policy of the current fiscal, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) had unanimously decided to keep the short-term interest rate or repo rate unchanged at 5.5%, with a neutral stance.

Since February 2025, the RBI has cut the policy rate by 100 basis points. At the previous policy review in June, the country had cut the repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.5%. Retail inflation has been trending below 4% since February this year. It became easier 0.25% in October, the lowest annualized inflation in the current CPI series. India’s GDP grew 8.2% in the second quarter of FY26 (the highest level in six quarters), driven by robust services, manufacturing and an above-normal monsoon.

The current MPC meeting began on December 3 and the decisions will be announced on December 5 at 10 am IST, followed by a press conference at 12 noon, live on RBI’s YouTube, X and website. Minutes will follow in two weeks.
