Rays announce departure of AGM Carlos Rodriguez

After 15 seasons of important contributions and leadership, Rays Vice President, assistant -albuming director Carlos Rodriguez, will leave the organization to pursue new challenges and opportunities, both inside and outside baseball, the club announced today.

Rodriguez, who joined the Rays in 2010, has played a crucial role in the last 15 years to help stimulate the evolution and success of the organization. During his term of office, the rays were not only improved on the field, recording three Al East Division titles and earning five post seasonal drivers, but have also seen enormous growth in the baseball activities of the organization with sustainable success, both on and outside the field.

“After 15 incredible years at the Tampa Bay Rays organization, I decided that the time is right to get away and go over to explore other opportunities,” said Rodriguez. “I am proud of what we have achieved together and grateful for all the friendships I have made here – especially Erik Neander, who has been like a brother for me. I was lucky to lead and work different departments with so many talented and dedicated people.

“For 15 years, Carlos is invaluable in our organization, leaving a lasting impact on our activities,” said Rays President, Baseball Operations Erik Neander. “His professionalism, teamwork and relentless dedication have made him an exceptional colleague and a cherished friend for me and countless others in the rays. We are deeply grateful for his contributions and the successes we have shared. We wish Carlos, Omayra and their family happiness and success in the future.”

Rodriguez joined the Rays as a professional and area scout in 2010, a role he had until his promotion to director, Latin American scouting in 2012. He held the role of director, International Scouting of 2015-19 before he was named Vice-President, player development and international exploration, that he became a position in 2019, Assistant-general manager in 2022 became.
