Ray Sefo will no longer work for Professional Fighters League. The longtime PFL president and the organization have parted ways, although further details about Sefo’s departure are currently unknown. The news was first reported “The Ariel Helwani Show” on Tuesday.

Sefo served as president of both the World Series of Fighting and the PFL, but his role seemed to become much less prominent in recent months. The 54-year-old native of Auckland, New Zealand, was a standout kickboxer who also fought four times in MMA. He last competed at WSOF 4 in August 2013, falling via second-round TKO to Dave Huckaba. “Sugarfoot” only officially announced his retirement from active competition in 2018. Sefo has also remained involved in martial arts as a coach over the years, mainly for Xtreme Couture.

Further restructuring

Sefo is the second known director to leave the PFL. Last week, the promotion announced that former CEO Peter Murray would be leaving the organization. Murray initially moved into an international leadership role last year when John Martin took over as CEO.

The competition kicks off in 2026 with PFL Road to Dubai on February 7. That card will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Usman Nurmagomedov and Alfie Davis and will be broadcast on the ESPN app in the United States.
