Veteran Batter Cheteshwar Pujara is of the opinion that former off-spinner India Ravichandran Ashwin Would be the perfect candidate for the position of the Indian head coach in the future. The former India cricket player announced his retirement to International Cricket in December 2024 during the border trophy of the border.

Pujara’s reaction came in a frank Q&A session in which the seasoned Slagman was asked who could probably become the next head coach of India. Pujara did not seem to hesitate and replied “Ravichandran Ashwin” at a show on Espncricinfo.

He scored 14 fifty and six hundred in test cricket. The last international match of Ashwin came during the Border-Gavaskar trophy of 2024-25.

Apart from an underwhelming homecoming in the Indian Premier League 2025, the 38-year-old has regularly done a number of incredible versions in the IPL. He played for five franchises until IPL 2025. He was an integral part of Chennai Super Kings from 2009 to 2015. Not only that, but he has a sublime economy of 7.20 over 221 games, making him a real contribution to the field.
