The Dane has long been considered a rising star of the DP World Tour and he broke his duck with a one-off victory in the 2025 Australian Open for his breakthrough victory.
Neergaard-Petersen finished on 15 under par at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club and it was enough to hold off home favorite Cameron Smith by one shot.
By 2025, he had finished second in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and the Puerto Rico Open on the PGA Tour, and finished third in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.
Neergaard-Petersen earned his DP World Tour status after three wins in a span of six months on the Challenge Tour in 2024.
He won the Kolkata Challenge for the first time as a professional and followed this with victories in the UAE Challenge and the Big Green Egg German Challenge.
In the Team Cup of the DP World Tour, Neergaard-Petersen represented the Continental Europe team in 2025.
