Manchester United decided Rasmus Hojlund to cut loose after a gloomy season 2024/25 in which he managed a meager four Premier League goals.
Ruben Amorim needed more firepower and Ineos brought Benjamin Sesko in. The Dane was deeply saddened because he wanted to stay fighting for his place and to prove his critics unevenly.
However, he was never offered the opportunity when the head coach left him away from three matchday squadrons and the 22-year-old instead came to Napoli on loan, as a replacement for former striker Romelu Lukaku.
His replacement at Old Trafford, Sesko still has to set the stage on fire, but the Denmark International immediately influenced his return to Italy.
Rasmus Out
He scored on his debut against Fiorentina, and his new manager, Antonio Conte, praised his impact, while he also took a subtle excavation with the Red Devils.
“We have signed Hojlund to replace Romelu, who will be out for a long time. Napoli has checked the match today, we also need someone who can hold the ball, that applies to all teams who want to dominate competitions.
“Hojlund is only 22 years old, we have him from Manchester United, since it brought our luck to McTominay,” Conte joked Sky Sport Italia (by Football Italia)).
“We knew his qualities, he has great potential and can improve. You can see that he is a boy with big prospects.”
Debut target
The Serie A giants have flourished by focusing on ex-sizing players, as seen from the season that Scott McTominay enjoyed the last term.
And although certain parts of the media are now starting with the burning of Amorim’s call to get rid of the ex-postalanta-axis as a stupid decision, the truth is that Rasmus Hojlund never seemed ready for the English flight.
He struggled to play, while also struggling with basic tasks, and it was clear that the glassers and Erik ten Hag should have signed him as an understudy instead of the most important focal point of the club.
Serie A fits much more with its skills, given the slower character of the game there and the space offered to players. Ineos will not mind if the International Denmark succeeds, the higher the chance that Napoli will permanently sign him.
