The Indian team is certainly one of the heavyweights among all cricket countries. Their domination between sizes for the past decades is nothing less than excellent. When it comes to playing in the Asia Cup, India have won the coveted title for a record number of eight times. They entered the Asia Cup 2025, the T20 version of the Continental Competition, to extend their record position.
However, there have been seasons in which the men in blue have not fulfilled their reputation in the history of the tournament. Their most recent Drubbing came in 2022, when they did not qualify for the final for the first time in the shortest format of the game, when the Sri Lanka led by Dasun Shanaka came that year when the ultimate champions came.
In the meantime, let’s look at the three worst versions of the Indian team in the history of Asia Cup per season.

3. Asia Cup 2000
The Indians started a flying start in the tournament opener against Bangladesh and won the collision with eight wickets on the back of a fantastic century by skipper Sourv Ganguly. However, the team took the battle through the Sri Lankans in the next collision in the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. The Lankans defeated India with a massive margin of 71 runs, thanks to the all -round brilliant of Sanath Jayasuriya.
At the same location, India stood opposite the arch-rival Pakistan in a do-of-thie-confession and they were first placed in Bowl. Mohammad Yousuf hit a great century, while the men in Green 295 placed for the loss of seven wickets. In a must-win collision, the Indians lost four wickets after just 14 overs. Ajay Jadeja was the only warrior, and lack of support meant that the side was bundled for 251 and the Pakistani handed a 44-run victory.
