2024 Range Rover Evoque facelift

The Range Rover Evoque will enter its third generation as a battery-electric vehicle in 2027, when it will be underpinned by the Jaguar Land Rover Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), reports say Coach.

The EMA platform will also underpin the next-generation Velar and the upcoming “Defender Sport,” and like the next Evoque, the larger Velar will also be a battery-electric model. All three upcoming models will be produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s plant in Halewood, United Kingdom, where the current generation Evoque is built.

The EMA platform uses an 800-volt electrical architecture designed primarily for electric powertrains, according to the report. This will use engines built in-house, together with batteries from JLR parent company Tata’s Agratas battery factory in Somerset.

It was previously reported that the automaker group’s EMA platform will have a ‘skateboard’ layout, with the 800-volt architecture supporting charging levels up to 350 kW. While the next Velar will undergo a “radical repositioning,” the Evoque will remain the entry point to the brand, according to the report.

The current Range Rover Evoque appeared in mid-2023 in its latest version for the 2024 model year, with a host of updates, including the P300w PHEV with a 309 hp/540 Nm plug-in hybrid powertrain using a 1,598 cc three-cylinder petrol engine with a belt-integrated starter generator and an electric motor on the rear axle.

A 14.9 kWh battery provides a pure EV range of up to 30 miles (48 km) in the real world, allowing up to 50 kW DC charging, and 7 kW AC charging for a 0-100% charge in two hours.
