External Affairs Minister and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje on Tuesday (December 23, 2025) lashed out at Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and called him “an anti-India leader” for his criticism of the NDA-led government during his visit to Germany.

Speak with YEARSBJP MP Shobha Karandlaje questioned the Lok Sabha leader’s ‘purpose’ for ‘speaking to the nation’ and said he is ‘still behaving like a child’.

“Rahul Gandhi is not the leader of the opposition but an anti-India leader who goes abroad and speaks against the nation. What does he want to achieve by this? He is still behaving like a child, not a leader,” Ms Karandlaje said.

The criticism comes after Rahul Gandhi leveled fresh allegations of “vote theft” against the government of India during a speech at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany, citing duplicate voters on the electoral roll.

Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress had won the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections and that the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections were “not fair”.

Lok Sabha LoP informed that their party has not received any “response” from the Election Commission when they flagged the issue.

“A Brazilian woman was on the voting list 22 times in Haryana… We got no response. We fundamentally believe that there is a problem with the electoral machinery in India,” Mr Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi also alleged that the Center has ‘weaponised’ research agencies, suggesting a quid pro quo where businessmen in India are financially supporting the BJP rather than the opposition parties.

He said, “There is a wholesale capture of our institutional framework. Our intelligence agencies, ED and CBI, are armed. ED and CBI have no business against the BJP, and most political cases are against those who oppose them. If you are a businessman and try to support the Congress, you are threatened. The BJP is using India’s institutional framework as a tool to build political power. Look at the money that the BJP and the Opposition have.”

Rahul Gandhi is on a five-day visit to Germany.
