Raducanu and Alcaraz fixed for stars -littered US open mixed doubles

The Mixed Doubles Championship will take place before the most important tournament on 19 and 20 August, where a million US dollars (£ 750,000) in prize money is at stake for the winners.

Raducanu and Alcaraz are one of the six teams that have received wildcards so far and two more wildcards will be announced at a later time to take the total number of teams that competes to 16.

Eight of the total 16 couples have received direct access to the draw, including Emma Navarro and Men’s World No1 Jannik Sinner together with Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud.

The British No1 Jack Draper is also in the main table, combined with Paula Badosa and the American duo Jessica Pegula and Tommy Paul will play together for their home crowd.

Draper was initially planned to play next to the Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng, but he will now play with Badosa, who was defeated by Katie Boulter in the first round in Wimbledon, after Zheng had opened the US with an elbow operation.

He was not mentioned among the 25 official applicants that the tournament announced a week ago, but he was confirmed on Tuesday to be half of the direct entry couples in the draw.
