Racehorse owners Gary and Lorilie Cunningham are selling their horses after moving to Horseshoe Hill in Maleny
Queensland racing kings Gary and Lorilie Cunningham are making their next power play after their stunning new build was named the state’s best home.
The philanthropic couple behind Cunningham Thoroughbreds have left the Gold Coast for ‘Horseshoe Hill’, an architectural tribute to their equine lifestyle and crowned Colorbond House of the Year at the 2025 Master Builders Queensland Housing and Construction Awards.
It’s a big victory off the track for the racehorse owners, whose calling card is 2024 Magic Millions winner Storm Boy and Magnetica.

Horseshoe Hill in Maleny, designed by Joe Adsett Architects and built by Jager Build, was featured at Grand Designs Australia and was praised for its unique curved shape rising from a steep rural site.
Notable features of the home, integrating concrete with recessed lighting, wood and stone, include a double-height living room with a dramatic stone fireplace, an infinity pool and stepped terraces that meet the landscape.

The Cunninghams have now put their beachfront condo up for auction on December 5.
The three-story condo in the Ocean Isles building at 3511 Main Beach Pde is being marketed by Donovan + Co agent Clint Donovan and last traded in 2014 for $5.75 million.
Features include a private rooftop pool, breathtaking ocean views and colorful interiors.
“This house has been our jewel by the sea, but the mountains have called,” Mrs Cunningham said.
“We are beyond excited about what comes next and excited for someone new to experience everything this condo has to offer our family.”
