Q by Aston Martin marks 60 years of Volante with ultra-exclusive anniversary editions

We recently had the chance to taste the standard version of the 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, and that car laid a very high beam for what an outdoor Aston should be. The 5.2-liter Twin-Turbo V12 was explosive when it was pushed, yet refined enough to make long distance surprisingly approachable, so we remind us of that Aston Martin has not lost the touch of the Grand Touring formula.

That experience of first -hand lays the attention of Aston Martin the latest unveiling. To celebrate 60 years of the Volante name, the tailor -made division of the company, Q by Aston Martin, has not created one, but two Ultra-Exclusive 60-year anniversary editions. One is based on the victory, the other on the DB12. Each will be limited to only 60 units worldwide and represent the highest level of performance, craftsmanship and collectability that Aston Martin has ever offered in its convertible line -up.

Managing the standard V12-driven Vanquish Volante revealed how Aston Martin Brute Strong combines with daily usability. The 60th anniversary edition takes that foundation and increases it because Q has pushed the Twin-Turbo V12 to 835 hp and 737 pound-foot torque by Aston Martin, with 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed good for 214 MPH.

These figures make it the fastest and most powerful production cabriolet in the history of the British brand, and also exceed rivals such as the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder. Tailor -made bronze detailing, tricolor interiors and strictly limited figures, and the Vanquish Volante 60th Anniversary Edition has the characteristics of an immediate collection object.

While the Vanquish is suitable for purists looking for top performance, the DB12 Volante also balances that the aforementioned daily usability with Aston Martin’s Super Tourer references. Under the hood is a 4.0-liter Twin-Turbo V8, still good for an impressive 671 hp and 590 pound-foot torque. That is enough for 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and a 202 MPH top speed.

With a 2+2 Lay -Out, the DB12 -Volante is versatile enough for longer journeys, but it still delivers the performance to rival cars such as the newest 992.2 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, unveiled this last weekend. It combines luxury rich quality with the possibility of devouring miles at speed, making it the more approachable of the two anniversary editions. Q’s excellent tailor -made finishes ensure that it is no less exclusive, with the same bronze -accentuated design language and handmade interior treatments that are seen on the Vanquish Volante.

Both anniversary editions also have Q Pentland Green Paint with a matching Westminster Green Fabric Roof. Anodized bronze accents extend from the vaned grid to the 21-inch Satin bronze wheels, sides and interior contact points; Speaking of this, the interior contains three -course leather in Centenary Saddle Tan, Ivory and Woven Finishes, which link to dark walnut finths. Embroidered 60 -year anniversary logos and etched backbacks emphasize the commemoration theme of these special builds.

In addition to aesthetics, however, of course, Q from Aston Martin, naturally ensures near-limitless personalization. You can collaborate with the team to decorate finishes, materials and even components. No two cars have to be identical, which only strengthens their profession for collectors who, in addition to exclusivity, praise individuality.

Let’s talk about the meaning of the Volante Ending. It comes from Italian, which means “flying” and Aston Martin used it for the first time in 1965 for the short chassis Volante, a model that bridges the DB5 and DB6. Only 37 examples have ever been built, and today they can sell for more than $ 1.5 million at an auction, often the price of a similar DB5 coupé. That rare debut set the tone for six decades of open -air Astons that combined elegance with performance.

Remarkable examples followed. The DB6 Volante became fame when Prince Charles received one as a birthday present, the same one he later converted to run on bioethanol. The V8 Volante of the 1970s and 1980s was a showcase of luxury and excess of his era, while in the 2000s the DB9 and DBS Volante modernized the concept. At an auction, Volante models often have a premium of 20 to 40 percent above their coupé against hits.

Collectors are attracted to Volantes, precisely because of this pattern. Early DB6s, Short chassis Volantes and special editions such as the coach Built Vantage Volante Zagato are already considered Blue-Chip Investments, while even contemporary DBS Superleggera Volantes are starting to hold firm against depreciation. All this in a year in which Aston celebrates for 75 years in America, continue to stimulate scarcity and desirability, and the 60 -year anniversary editions have been built in. With only 60 examples of each model, these cars are designed as cultural milestones and guaranteed collector’s assets.

Aston Martin could have easily added badges and new paint to mark the Volante for 60 years. Instead, it created two of the most powerful, refined and exclusive convertibles in its history. For enthusiasts, the jubilee editions represent the ultimate expression of Open-Aston driving. For collectors, they are investments that are intended to appreciate, while the Volante story continues to unfold.
