The Lightning is the standard model of the two options and has a larger and squarer face for confidence-inspiring forgiveness.

The larger, square-toe, low-profile head is designed for confidence off both the tee and the surface, prioritizing forgiveness, distance and versatility over the shot-shaping qualities of the Tour model for most golfers.

The wood also features a large, high-strength carbon fiber crown that is up to 84% larger than previous models, lowering the center of gravity and increasing the moment of inertia.

Lightning fairways feature a variable thickness face that is 12.5% ​​thinner on the perimeter than previous Black Ops woods, with 4% more flex for faster ball speeds.

Progressive Face Geometry is also incorporated into the design, with the bulge/roll varying per loft for tighter dispersion on mishits.

A laser-etched face introduces microtexturing to improve spin control and shot stability, even in damp conditions, while a new feature is the Spined Sole for improved stiffness in the clubhead of the fairways for greater stability.

In this model, PXG’s Precision Weighting Technology features three sole ports in the toe, heel and rear with a single 12.5-gram weight and two 2.5-gram weights that are interchangeable for draw or fade bias or for adding a higher launch.

The club head has a shorter overall size from front to back and is also larger across the face with a more rounded shape that promotes workability, shot shaping, lower launch and a penetrating flight.

The Tour model has a thinner face than previous versions and delivers explosive ball speeds, while the Progressive Face Geometry helps with accuracy and tighter overall dispersion.

In this model, a laser-etched face design has been introduced with micro-texturing to improve spin control and shot stability, even in damp conditions.

The revised carbon fiber crown allowed the weight distribution to be moved low and to the perimeter to lower the center of gravity and increase moment of inertia.

The Lightning Tour model features two weight ports on the sole with forward and backward positions for a heavy weight of 10-12.5 grams and a lightweight of 2.5 grams that are interchangeable to change setup, trajectory and spin levels.

The Tour model is only available in 3 wood (15 degrees) and 5 wood (18 degrees) options.
