The PXG 0311 GEN8 irons are new for 2025 after being unveiled as the eighth generation of the hugely popular model.
Social media leaks of the latest design were revealed in late 2025, with the GEN8 irons set to hit the big time in 2026 as the improved version of PXG’s industry-leading iron.
The 0311 GEN7 irons have been popular since their first appearance in 2024 and the GEN8 will build on previous generations, offering forgiveness, distance and high launch characteristics.
No specific details have been revealed about the design changes or models, or the new technologies or specifications. We will keep you informed of all important information as soon as it is released in conjunction with the launch of the new PXG Lightning drivers for 2026.
PXG 0311 GEN8 Irons Specifications and design
The GEN8 0311 irons are the successor to the GEN7 model with PXG’s latest design, with a notable adjustment to the weights in the club head.
While the GEN7 irons had one center rear weight, the images of the GEN8 version show two tungsten weights: one in the toe and one in the heel position.
The design tweaks are likely aimed at improving distance, forgiveness, feel and overall playability compared to previous generations.
PXG irons are known for their high moment of inertia (MOI) and the further strategic internal weight changes will increase forgiveness by maintaining ball speed, especially on off-center hits.
Once again, the 0311 GEN8 is built on PXG’s legacy of using high-quality materials, including an ultra-thin Maraging steel face for high ball speed and distance.
The new GEN8 irons are also expected to feature a dual-cavity design seen in previous models, as well as the QuantumCOR technology introduced in the previous generation.

The GEN8 irons are available in standard and black head versions, although the specific models and specifications are not yet available.
PXG 0311 GEN8 Irons Review: Are They Any Good?
PXG doesn’t do bad irons and the GEN8 model will build on the impressive features of the seven generations that have come and gone.
The 2025 launch shows a tweaked design, particularly around the rear tungsten weights, which appear aimed at adding more forgiveness to the model.
The 0311 GEN8 irons are set to add incremental gains in distance, playability and ball striking and we’re looking forward to getting our hands on the new model.
