Concluding his two-day visit to India, Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ with his own message ‘go together, grow together’, which he said captures the essence of the long-standing relationship between Moscow and Delhi while attending the state banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

At the banquet, Putin said: “I know in India they say: ‘go together, grow together.’ These words very accurately reflect the spirit, character and traditions of Russian-Indian relations. And we intend to do everything we can to ensure that our strategic partnership continues to strengthen and develop for the benefit of our two people.”

The Russian President expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of the Indian leaders and thanked President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian colleagues for the warm welcome and constructive dialogue.

Looking back at the foundation of bilateral relations, Putin recalled the Soviet Union’s support for India’s development, including participation in the construction of industrial facilities, infrastructure and the space program.

He also noted the 15th anniversary of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, which marked the transition of bilateral relations to a more advanced level.

Putin emphasized that the partnership is based on equality, mutual respect and attention to each other’s interests.

He described the recent talks with Indian counterparts as productive, noting that the final joint statement outlines plans for cooperation in the areas of politics, security, economics, transport, energy, education and culture.

The Russian President expressed confidence that these agreements will give a strong boost to bilateral relations.

He also pointed to shared efforts in international forums and stated that Russia and India work together to promote a fair, multipolar international order based on the central role of the United Nations and a balance of the interests of all members.

Putin concluded by emphasizing continued cooperation in the Brics, where India will take over the presidency in 2026, and other multilateral formats aimed at building security, trust and peace across Eurasia and beyond.
