PuppyGraph on the IT press tour: graph power without the pain

During the IT-Persstournee I had the pleasure of talking to Weimo Liu, CEO and co-founder of PuppyGraph and to hear first-hand how his team reconsider the graph technology for the company.

In this episode of Tech Talks Daily, Weimo accompanies me to share the story behind the “Zero Etl” approach of PuppyGraph, with which organizations can search their existing data as a graph without ever moving or duplication.

We discuss why Graph databases, despite their promise, struggled with regular acceptance, often because of complex pipelines and heavy infrastructure requirements. Weimo explains how PuppyGraph lends from his time at Tigergraph and the F1 -Engine of Google to build something new: a distributed query -engine that assigns tables in a logical graph and delivers sub -conde performance on huge data sets. This shift opens the door for use cases in cyber security, fraud detection and AI-driven applications where latency and accuracy are the most important.

We also unpack the developer experience. Instead of rewriting schemes or recharging data each time the requirements change, PuppyGraph teams can define nodes and edges directly from existing tables. That design lowers the barrier for SQL-oriented teams and speeds up the time to appreciate. Weimo even touches the role of graph in reducing AI -Hallucinations, which shows how structured relationships enterprise AI systems can make more reliable.

What struck me most in our conversation is how the playful branding of PuppyGraph lies his serious technical depth. Behind the name “Puppy” is a distributed engine built to scale with today’s data volumes, supported by strong early adoption and a team that listens closely to the needs of the customer. Whether you explore the graph for cyber security, AI chatbots or analysis of the supply chain, this discussion offers a glimpse of how the next generation of graph technology can finally come off from the niche and mainstream.
