Proton has announced its group sales figures before July 2025, revealing that it delivered 13,518 units last month, an increase of 2,249 units – or 22.1% – compared to the 11,069 units that it was able to sell in June. This helped the figures of the year to date (YTD) in push to 85,674 units for the first seven months of the year, so that it was firmly placed in the general national sales ranking.
It added that his market share for the month is estimated at 19.2%, with a current YTD market share figure of 19.3%, reached on the back of an increase in the total industrial volume (TIV) last month, with the estimated 70,545 units shifted an increase of 28.7%in June.
At the front for the brand, the Proton Saga was again, which celebrated his 40th birthday by taking up the best -performing month for the year in July. A total of 6,638 units of the Saga were delivered last month, which brought YTD sales numbers from the Sedan to 38,345 units.
The X50 was the next bestseller for the brand. With 999 units delivered during the last seven days of the month, July ended with 2,068 units that were sold in the month, the third time that the SUV passed the 2,000 sales figure this year. With the total production volume prediction that by the end of this month, 5,000 units will hit and the total bookings that are closed on five digits, the automaker said that it expected much better figures for the model in August.


The S70 -Sedan continued to leave, with another 1,404 units sold in July and brought its YTD volume to 10,750 units. However, it was not the third best -selling model of the brand, because that was the persona, who managed 1,499 deliveries last month.
With regard to the X70, 617 units were added in July to apply the YTD sale of the SUV, which arrived in its facial form last August, to 4,971 units. In the meantime, 329 units of the IRIZ were sold last month and the X90 added another 229 units to its volume in 2025.
Away from the Ice Route has the brand the honor to have the best-selling EV in the country in the form of EMAS 7. July saw another 706 units (including export; 686 units were registered in their own country last month, based on JPJ data) of the SUV that was sold, which made the total sale of the model up to 4.959 units (again, with Export).

“The success of EMAS 7 has exceeded the expectations and proves the product and strategy of the company to concentrate on brand building, charging infrastructure and the opening are correct for Malaysian EV buyers,” said Proton Edar deputy CEO Zhang Qiang.
Export numbers were also reported, the company said that it was now 44.1% that it was managed in the same period in 2024. The total YTD export sales now amount to 2,258 units, in which the company stated that the X50 had overtaken the Saga as the most popular export model. Third on the list of export models is the EMAS 7, with the 20 units exported in July that bring the YTD export volume of the model to 270 units.
The company added that his intention to sharpen its focus on export sales was indicated by the recent formation of Proton International Corporation (PICSB). “With the upcoming EMAS 5 that adds a second EV model to our portfolio and growing interest in foreign markets, it is expected that EV and export sales will increase their contribution to the total sales numbers in the coming months and years,” Zhang said.
