Proton International founded to process export markets – 6000 unit target for 2025, 12,000 for 2026 – Paultan.org

Proton Holdings (Proton) has formed a new complete subsidiary called Proton International Corporation (PICSB), which will be in charge of the foreign expansion of the car manufacturer, with the aim of offering more flexibility when dealing with international markets.

The new company is led by CEO Edmund Lim Meng Thong, who was previously the director of Proton’s International Sales Division. In an official release, Proton revealed that PICSB has the task of expanding the export footprint of the car manufacturer to Global South, while also supervising and selling sales and marketing initiatives on existing overseas markets. The long -term plan is for a ten -time increase in export volumes in the next five years.

Currently, the top three export models from Proton have been the Saga with 10,998 units since 2020, followed by the X50 with 3,986 units and the X70 with 3,316 units. The first electric vehicle (EV) of the brand, the EMAS 7, has also gained ground by being the third most exported model this year.

Proton noted that a total of 233 units of EMAS 7 were delivered abroad since exports started to Nepal and Trinidad & Tobago. From the end of May of this year, 3,632 units of the EV were sold, with 916 units that were registered in May 2025 – these figures combine domestic and export sales.

So far in 2025, Proton launched the locally assembled Saga in Egypt in February, with Nepal de Ema’s 7 a month later welcomed, followed by Trinidad & Tobago in June. Singapore also received an example of the EV in May, so that the cleaning of the brand to the island nation was marked after an absence of more than ten years.

Picsb has set a goal of 6,000 export sales this year, with the figure set to double in 2026 and by ten come 2030. Currently, Proton exports to 19 Countries, Namely Brunei, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Bermeg, Tobago, Tobago Pakistan, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Iraq, Ghana, Angora, Kenya, South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Since 2020 until now, the company has exported 20,169 vehicles to become the leading exporter of vehicles from Malaysia.
