Proton has announced that it delivered a total of 3,276 eMas cars to customers in the month of January 2026, averaging more than 100 units per day.
According to data from the Road Transport Department (JPJ), 8,890 Proton electric vehicles (EVs) have been registered in 2025. With the January 2026 result, the brand is approximately 36.9% on track to achieving last year’s sales total. It’s also worth noting that last month’s figure almost triples from the 1,106 units reported for December 2025 (the sub-brand’s best monthly result last year).
The eMas 7 has been well received since its launch in December 2024 and accounted for the vast majority of Proton’s EV sales in 2025. Next came the eMas 5 in October 2025, while the locally assembled (CKD) version of the eMas 7 went on sale this month with a specification upgrade and lower prices compared to the fully imported (CBU) version sold previously.
On February 4 (next Wednesday), Proton will introduce its first plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the eMas 7 PHEV, which will be available in three variants and is estimated to cost between RM110,000 and RM130,000.
