Wesley Chapel, FL – November 4, 2025 – The Board of Directors of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin van Daalen as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Martin brings more than 35 years of experience developing players and mentoring coaches at every level of the game. Known for his deep knowledge, thought leadership and passion for helping others grow, Martin is poised to lead PTR into an exciting new era of innovation and global racquet sports education.
Most recently serving as director of programming at the Miami Beach Tennis Academy, Martin’s career includes decades of high-quality coaching and leadership. He started as a national coach and director of women’s tennis in the Netherlands before moving to the United States, where he spent many years coaching elite juniors and professionals at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, Florida. His players included legends like Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Jennifer Capriati, Mary Pierce and Jared Palmer.
Martin also served as a national coach for the USTA for over 11 years, where he trained countless juniors who achieved success at the collegiate and professional levels. His international experience extends to his tenure as Director of Player Development for the Finnish Tennis Federation and his work as author of the highly regarded Teaching Tennis Volumes I, II and III, which continue to inspire coaches around the world.

As CEO, Martin will continue to build on PTR’s mission to improve coach education worldwide, strengthen programs, expand international reach and increase opportunities for racquet sports coaches everywhere.
