Production has begun on the eight-episode second season Dune: Prophecy for HBOMax.

Returning cast includes Aussies Travis Fimmel, Josh Heuston, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Yerin Ha plus Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, Australian, Barbara Marten and Tessa Bonham Jones.

Newly announced cast includes Indira Varma ( The Night Manager, Coldwater, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One), Ashley Walters (Ton Boy, Adolescence, Bullet Boy) and Tom Hollander (The White Lotus, the Night Manager, Feud: Capote vs. the Swans).

Alison Schapker is showrunner.

From the vast universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy season one follows two Harkonnen sisters as they battle forces that threaten the future of humanity, and establish the legendary order that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.

Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer. Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, Kevin Lau, Monica Owusu-Breen, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns and Jon Spaihts serve as executive producers alongside Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert for the Frank Herbert estate. Kevin J. Anderson serves as co-producer. The series is co-produced by HBO and Legendary Television, with Legendary also producing the film franchise. Dune: Prophecy is inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
