The Warriors return to action tonight at Gutterson Fieldhouse, taking on Vermont in their first game back from the break.
However, Merrimack will be short up front. Justin Gill is out with an undisclosed injury and the Warriors remain without a defenseman Hunter Mayowho tried to play through injury earlier this season but hasn’t appeared since Dec. 5 against Connecticut.
There is positive news on the lineup front. Ty Daneault He is expected to suit up for the first time since Nov. 15, when he was injured against Providence. Goalkeeper Nils Wallstrom is also back in uniform and will serve as one of the starter’s backups Max Lundgren.
Vermont, already among the lowest-scoring teams in college hockey, will be missing some key contributors. The Catamounts will be without a leading scorer Collin Kessler (0g, 8a), second top scorer Caeden Herrington (1g, 4a) and veteran Max Strand (2g, 1a).
Strand is one of only five players on the roster with more than one goal this season.
The Catamounts also announced the addition of a goaltender Cullen DeYoung earlier today. It is listed on the lineup overview below Axel Mangbo. Vermont lists its goaltenders numerically, so the starter won’t be known until warmups.
