A recall of certain cases of dried apricots from Floria is in the corridor because their packaging does not contain the fruit vessel sulfites.
Turkana Food Inc. Thursday has issued a recall for 352 cases of the dried fruit published by an announcement on the The website of Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The dried apricots have a paper packaging of 200 grams.
The move was crushed by “routine sampling carried out by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets” which stated that the recalled apricots contain “sulfites that were not mentioned on product labeling,” said the FDA Recall knowledge.
Companies often use sulfites as a preservative in food and drink, but some people can have allergic reactions to them.
The dried apricots who miss the statement about sulfites have an expiration date of November 2026.
They also have the plot number “440090478-15-333” and the UPC label “2539560010”, according to the recall.
Shoppers who have purchased Floria dried apricots with that specific party number “should not consume the product,” said the recall.
Instead, they must return the product to the store where it was purchased for a refund.
No diseases have been reported of the non -declared sulfites.
According to the FDA, Turkana -food spread the recalled apricots in the following states:
- Florida
- Kentucky
- Virginia
- New York
- New Jersey
- Tennessee
- Massachusetts
- Texas
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Michigan
- Rhode Island
- Pennsylvania
- North Carolina
- Maryland
- Ohio
- Alabama
- Missouri
- California
The company and the FDA investigate “The problem with the manufacturer” according to the FDA notification.
In the meantime, it has stopped producing and distributing them.

Turkana food, with headquarters in New Jersey, describes itself as a “family business and operated ethnic food distributor.”
It serves independent supermarkets, shops and institutions, according to its website.
