Popping of imports and increasing exports greatest form of nationalism: Gadkari

Union Nitin Gadkari Minister said Tuesday (September 23, 2025) that reducing import and increasing export is the most important form of nationalism.

When tackling an event in Mumbai, Mr Gadkari said that a country that improves in knowledge and research will arise as a ‘Vishwaguru’, and emphasizes the need to link education and innovation to national development.

“The most important thing to make India Vishwaguru is knowledge. Every country that progresses in the world does this because of knowledge and research. A lot of research is done in defense, agricultural and information technology sectors,” he said.

Note that wars were previously fought with soldiers and tanks, Mr Gadkari said that drones and rockets are now being used, indicating the shift in the global dynamics to knowledge -driven strategies.

The BJP Member of Parliament stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the goal of making India an economy of five trillion dollars and the world’s third largest.

“To achieve this, it is important to concentrate on knowledge and research and to ensure that the training we receive is relevant to our lives,” he added.

“The future of youth is related to the future of the country. The things we import … Doing research on them, reducing import and increasing export is the greatest form of nationalism,” said Mr Gadkari.

He emphasized that research in material sciences and technology would help reduce the dependence on import.

Mr Gadkari added that the world has shown interest in the heritage, history, culture and knowledge of India yoga, and that the country must ensure that the knowledge of society and the nation benefits.
