If you drive on the North South Expressway (NSE) and get your own accident, without the resulting injury to someone or damage to other vehicles and public infrastructure, you will soon have the option to make a police report from the incident without having to go to the nearest police station.

The Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT) has announced That from 1 September a pilot test starts with private individuals involved in an accident on the NSE – where the accident only includes their own vehicle and does not require any further investigation by the police – a police report of the incident online via the PDRM E-reporting platform.

The e-reporting service, which means that the public police reports can submit online for matters that do not concern criminal cases or further research, is not new, but its scope is limited to reporting matters such as lost or misplaced documents such as ICS and driving certificates and previously a physical traffic tax slip, among other things.

This has now been expanded to make an accident report within the defined parameters submitted, with the aim of speeding up the reporting process and to improve the aspects of self -insurance claims.

The pilot project is an initiative of the police, the Ministry of Transport, JPJ and the National Anti-Financial Crime Center (NFCC), with the support of the Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) and the Malaysia Takaful Association (MTA) as well as plus, the operator of the NSE.
