Victoria Police has announced a reward of $ 500,000 for information regarding a fatal arson attack in western Melbourne at the beginning of this year with a accidentally oriented house.
The incident in Truganina on January 16 killed the 27-year-old Katie Tangey.
Mrs. Tangey was housing for her brother while he was abroad when the house was on fire and was flooded in flames, catching her and the family dog and destroying the three -storey mansion.
The police believe that the fire was probably linked to the tobacco choices of Victoria, but said that the house in Dover Street was not the intended target of the attack and that Mrs. Tangey had no ties with the illegal tobacco trade of the state.
“Those responsible for the death of Katie know that they have focused on the wrong house and they have to live with the knowledge that they are responsible for the horrible death of a completely innocent young woman,” said detective inspector Chris Murray.
“We believe that we know who has directed this crime, and we know that we are getting closer to the evidence who was responsible for performing it at night.”
A study led by the arson and explosives of Victoria Police has been going on since February, with search community carried out in recent months in areas in Melbourne.
The police have not announced any details about any suspects, but are looking for information about a man with whom they want to talk about the incident.

Researchers published a digitally composed image of him in April. It is described as middle -earlier, at the latest, between 25 and 30 years old, and as a slender build.
At the time of the fire in January, the police said that CCTV had imprisoned two people outside the house of Truganina before an explosion took place and the couple left the area.
A reward of a maximum of $ 500,000 has been offered for anyone who can lead the police to the fear and the subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Mrs. Tangey.
The investigation keeps going.
