Player props for Mets v. Guardians: Gavin Williams under the best picks

The final of the Mets-Guardians series offers a strong starting pitching matchup, with David Peterson on Wednesday afternoon against Gavin Williams.

Williams is in peak shape, perhaps the best of his career in his last five starts, because he has a 1.74 ERA with 35 strikeouts over 30 innings in that period.

In the meantime, Peterson, an NL All-Star, has been the only reliable Mets-starter while preparing for the stretchrun to the play-offs.

Peterson is in solid form in itself, with an equally strong 1.44 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 31²/₃ innings about his last five starts.

You might remember that I will be recommended Williams to win the Cy Young Award in the American League during the spring training this year. Those tickets are dead, but Williams has not been bad in any way and the 100/1 long shot was not a total waste.

The running speed of Williams has fallen lately and his strikeout rate has risen since the calendar turned until June.

Let us focus on the total and bet on the lower runs in the first five innings, because both teams struggle in the earlier half of the matches.

The Mets are 47-61-5 this season for the Under for the first five innings this season, while the Guardians are 45-63-3.

With the Guardians who cash in the Under against a clip of 58.3 percent in the first inning this season and the Mets that come in with a percentage of 54.5 percent, should be a solid time on Wednesday to hit the under if these two starters duel.

As an added bonus, don’t be afraid to bet on Williams’ Strikeout -Prop, more than 5.5 that arrives at +105, with some sneaky value on 8+ strikeouts that enter +450 on Draftkings.

Williams has taken at least eight in two of his last three starts and three of the five in general.

The game: Mets-Guardians under 4.5 a total of runs in the first five innings (-110, bet365) | Williams 8+ Strikeouts (+450, Draftkings)
