#NHLJets head coach Scott Arniel says Neal Pionk is there every day and travels. He adds, “It appears” Elias Salomonsson will make his NHL debut during the road trip.
Pionk played just over two minutes in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild before leaving with what appeared to be a leg or groin problem. He did not return and Jets PR later confirmed it was a lower body injury. Pionk skated alone today and appeared to be moving well, but he will continue to do so on a day-to-day basis as the team monitors how he feels ahead of tomorrow’s game in Washington.
During today’s training, the Swedish defender skated next to Dylan Samberg in the second pair. Logan Stanley and Colin Miller formed the third duo, with Luke Schenn coming on as an extra defender.

Pionk, 30, has played 21 games this season, scoring one goal and four assists for five points.
Salomonsson has appeared in 17 games with the Moose this year. While he is still searching for his first AHL goal of the season, he has registered six assists.
