3 minutes, 37 seconds Read

Oscar Piastri was at the top of a crucial but disturbed second training in the Singapore Grand Prix after two red flags and a bizarre pitlane -crash where Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris interrupted the session.

Crashes for George Russell and Liam Lawson combined to reduce the one-hour session by 24 minutes, so that the only representative after-dark session for this night is jeopardized Grand Prix,

Russell was the first in the barriers, wore too much speed in bend 16, slid past the top and plowed nose-first in the barrier before he could save himself from a harmful tank slapper.

“That was strange,” Russell reported before he returned to Pit Lane without his nostril.

However, the damage was more serious than it seemed, and the team pulled him out of the session after just six laps.

The session was suspended for almost 12 minutes when the track was erased and the barriers were reset, but the circuit kept just five minutes open before it was closed again, this time to collect Liam Lawson’s affected Racing Bulls car.

The kiwi was in a fast lap when he lost control of his car through turn 17, hit the barrier at the exit. The impact immediately cut its ties in front of the right side of his rim and caused a puncture with the right distance. The kiwi tried to return to Pit Lane, but with his floor that scraped along the floor and rubble on the circuit, he was forced to stop at the entrance of the well, activating the suspension.

Leclerc then ran the risk of causing a third red flag of the session when he hit Norris Bizar when the drivers left their garages for the resumption.

Norris was already in the fast lane when Leclerc was released directly on his path. They made front wheel contact, sent Norris in the well wall and break the front wing of the McLaren.

McLaren and Ferrari Mechanics worked to save Norris and bring him back to the garage for repairs, while Leclerc was able to continue without damage. The incident will go for the stewards after the session.

Lawson’s crash was particularly uncomfortable because of the timing, just when the qualifying simulation rounds were set around the hour. Most drivers returned to the circuit with the soft tire to complete their qualifying simulation tuns, but it prevented them from taking long running.

Piastri took the chance to go to the top of the order with a best time of 1m30,714s, but it was Isack Hadjar who followed him in second place, the Racebulls Rookie that nailed the timing of his lap in high traffic conditions to follow only 0.132S.

Max Verstappen was one of the first to set a fast round after red flags and the session third, only 0.143s behind Piastri in a competitive show for Red Bull Racing.

Fernando Alonso, who was at the top of FP1, was fourth and only 0.163s behind Piastri in a tightly disputed top four.

Norris struggled to merge a competitive round after his crash from Pit Lane. His first time left him 0.483S behind teammate Piastri, at which point his team suggested that he switched to continuously running to end the session. The Brit argued that he had to search for half a second, but a cooling round and last push round did not yield extra time, so he was the fifth.

Lance Stroll was sixth for Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz.

Leclerc led Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton, the couple divided by only 0.025s but almost 0.8s slower than Piastri in the bottom of the top 10.

Yuki Tsunoda was a non -competitive 11th, the Japanese river 0.994s slower than Piastri and 0.851s behind teammate Verstappen. The Japanese oppressed Japanese driver led Oliver Bearman, Alex Albon, Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto to the 15th.

Pierre Gasly was the fastest Alpine Driver, who hit 16th fastest, before the crashed Lawson.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli was a non -representative 18th. The Mercedes -smokie was just on its way to start a qualifying round when Lawson hit the wall, but his team chose to send him back for a run on medium -sized tires after the resumption, so that he was left without a quick time without a quick time.

Franco Colapinto was 19th for Alpine for the crashed Russell.
