Given all the things that Twisted has converted his hand in recent years – speedboats very much among them – it is a miracle that it has never happened to the Range Rover Classic, a model that seems to match the tendency to the ground. It probably has his hands full with the classic defender, the car with which he has become enthusiastic (and cannily) synonymous. But it also seems that there is a chance that it was closed for the right time.
That is at least the way in which Twisted the framed, the prototype said a ‘personal project’ for founder and wayfinder, Charles Fawcett. Given the preoccupation of the company with the details, it is not surprising that the Build that his vision included was reportedly lasted 2500 hours to complete. Neither that the resulting special project will result in a disappearing small production run: even for a specialist who is used to going with melancholic memories of the past, it is intended as something special.
It certainly looks. The beautiful of Restomodded Range Rover Classics (just like the defender) is that precious small tweaices of the styling is required. The car is already an industrial design icon; Too much mess with the risks. But it is not to be denied that the transforming effect of wider traces and larger wheels. Of course yours does not have to look exactly like Charlie’s – in fact the plan that every interested buyer will sit with the boss himself (and the technician responsible for doing real work) and planning their vision.

Two elements seem to be placed in stone in any case. One is the triple scale for the time being (although you would imagine that Twisted’s willpower would be tested by a sufficiently large stack of cash). And two, the engine. That is probably suitable for most buyers based on the fact that Charlie has chosen one of his favorites: the always popular 6.2-liter V8 in LT1 format. Sufficient for 460 hp and 509LB FT torque via a customized eight -speed gearbox.
This, in a car that does not exceed the modest output of a 4.2-liter Rover V8 in its time. As you would expect, in addition to a reinforced chassis, this led the prototype to receive the tailor -made suspension of Twisted, including the risen brakes that you definitely need. The company does not quote performance figures for the classic, but you would imagine that they are powerful in the same way on the kind of answer that you get from one of the V8-breath defenders.
The price tag, we would imagine, will be even more powerful. Twisted would not be attracted to the type of number that it is willing to discuss – simply describe the car as POA – but it goes without saying that you go a long road in a speedboat budget. The company would of course be happy to discuss both at the same time. What better location to do that than a sun -drenched bicester movement? Expect Charlie’s Range Rover Classic to pull a crowd anyway.
