‘The Maori Kid’, also known as Jay Jay Wilson, will return to action next month on PFL Champions Series 3 and wants to work his way to a title shot.
We recently saw lightweight Wilson, he had defeated colleague Bellator Vet Mads Burnell as part of the lightweight World Tournament of the PFL. Wilson (11-1) had to withdraw from the tournament prior to his next match-up, but because of a broken jaw.
The injury is something that he recently detailed with Cageside Press.
“It has been a long recovery. To be honest, the worst of it was unable to eat,” Wilson noted, who then accepts Archie Colgan. “De Kaak now feels good, the doctor says that I have made one hundred percent recovery, which is great. So I am excited.”
“The first week ago training, I was very worried about it,” Wilson admitted to his now healed jaw and noticed that a greater care than in the face was made with submissions. “The first week I was just before tapping. They just wanted to grab my neck, I would be like” Okay, you’re good, start again. “
“In terms of punches,” he added, “the first two sparring sessions I was very anxious about it. I was very worried about it, such as” Don’t Sla, Don’t Sla me, “kind of thing. And when I had taken a few hits, I thought:” Okay, things are going well. “
With Wilson from the PFL World Tournament, it was Alfie Davis who made Gadzhi Rabadanov Van Streek to claim the tournament camp championship. Davis is now ready to take on the winner of Usman Nurmagomedov against Paul Hughes, fighting in a rematch on top of the PFL Champions Series 3 card.
Wilson lets Callout and revenge. “I want to come through Archie and I want to call Alfie. I think that would be a good small redemption, with which I can win the title.” Alfie Davis, who defeated Rabadanov, has a victory over the only hunter that Jay Jay Wilson defeated himself.
Later Wilson would add that if it doesn’t work: “If he doesn’t want to fight, I will take the number one competition. I don’t really care, I take it against someone. Send me a name, write the check and then I go.”
In the meantime, when it comes to Colgan, Wilson wonders how good his 12-0 record really is.
“You go through the records, and there are a few remarkable names in it, but not real. Emmanuel Sanchez, he was a 45’er who went up. Mansour [Barnaoui]But then I looked at Mansour’s fight, “Wilson explained.” Mansour dropped his mouth and then he just lost the entire second round, it was cut through. “I think I can exploit him. He is going to shoot for removal, he is going to pray. I’m just going to walk it down and do what I do,” Wilson completed.
