Offensive Player of the Week: QB Trinidad Chambliss, Ole ma’am
While the second round of the College Football Playoff featured a host of star quarterbacks, no one shined brighter than Chambliss. The Ole Miss starter put on a show with an overall PFF grade of 91.6 and a passing grade of 91.8, totaling five big throws with just one turnover-worthy play. The former Ferris stands quarterback was especially elite back then Georgia blitzed him, going 12-for-22 with 128 yards, three big throws, no turnover-worthy plays and zero sacks.
Defensive Player of the Week: S Devan Boykin, Indiana
Indiana’s defense was swarming Alabama’s inconsistent offense in the Rose Bowl, and Boykin was a focal point. The safety returned a PFF coverage grade of 88.0 with six stops in the passing game. Boykin also didn’t miss a single tackle attempt in Pasadena.
Offensive Line of the Week: Alabama Crimson Tide
Although Alabama was dismantled in the quarterfinals, the offensive line put up a respectable effort. The unit produced a PFF pass-blocking grade of 87.3, allowing just five pressures and one sack against a good Indiana front. Furthermore, the Tide’s offensive line easily led all eight teams with an impact run-block percentage of 77.8%.

Run Defenseman of the Week: LB Ben Roberts, Texas technology
Texas Tech’s season may have ended unhappily, but it wasn’t because of its elite defense. Roberts continued a stellar postseason run with a nationally high 89.3 PFF run defense grade against Oregonrecording six stops with one tackle for loss/no gain. He also didn’t miss a single tackle against the Ducks’ good ground game.
Pass Rusher of the Week: EDGE Rueben Bain Jr., Miami (FL)
Bain continued his season-long tear by wreaking havoc State of Ohio in the Cotton Bowl. The projected first-round pick led all players in the quarterfinals with a PFF pass-rushing grade of 86.7 and an unreal success rate of 32.4%. In total, Bain collected eight pressures against the Buckeyes.
