Perfect weekend for Isaac Kingham in Cleveland Junior 4* – Table tennis England

Isaac Kingham from Suffolk led the Grantham Academy attack on the Cleveland Junior 4* titles in Middlesbrough Sports Village last weekend and won the Junior Boys Singles without the loss of a single match.

Kingham came to the final with a semi-final victory over Cadet Boys’ singles winner, Pablo Ramirez Rioja from Hertfordshire, after winning the first two Close matches.

In the last Kingham, the local favorite, Ormesby’s Zac GreenHoth from Cleveland, with 11-9, 11-7, 11-7.

Ramirez Rioja reached the semi -final with a victory over Charlie Williams from Lancashire. In the lower half of the draw, the No. 2 Seed Aarav Parihar of the Grantham Academy fell to Joe Mulhern from Scotland in the first round. Mulhern went on to the semi -final before he lost in five to Greenhough.

Ella Pashley from Cleveland, who was also part of the Grantham team, was the local winner of the singles of the Junior Girls, but this was not without any narrow competitions. In the semi-final, Ella Fifth Seed Anjali Singh from Northern Ireland defeated. Singh took a 2-1 lead before Pashley won the fourth and fifth games comfortably.

In the final, Pashley also lost a competition to Eva Eccles from Norfolk before he won comfortably in the fourth game. Eccles came through with two very narrow victories and Hannah Saunders from Cambridge and Naomi Coker, Derbyshire, both in Deuce in the fifth.

The singles among the 17 boys was a Scottish success. Joe Mulhern van Drumchapel defeated Archway Peterborough’s Kai Lun Chow 3-1 in a narrow final. Mulhern, although ranked no. 1 in Scotland, was ungowed and came to the final with victories over Ryan Holland and top seeds, Aarav Parihar, both by Grantham. Second Seed Kai Lun Chow reached the final without dropping a competition.

The Singles Under-17 Girls was won by Grantham’s Hannah Saunders, from Cambridge, who defeated Charlotte Lok Ching Wong from Warwickshire 3-1. Charlotte took the best placed position by beating Brooke Morris van Lancashire in her qualifying group.

In the final, Saunders defeated Drumchapels Kiishi Adekola 3-1 and turned her defeat in the qualifying group. Adekola has defeated another Scottish player, Alexandra Hart, in the semi -final.

The singles of the Cadet Boys was won by Pablo Ramirez Rioja. The third seed of Hertfordshire defeated two Grantham players to win the title. In the semi-final he defeated Aarav Parihar with 3-1 and then, in the last, Ryan Holland in straight competitions.

Holland, from the fifth position, reached the final by beating top seeds Kai Lun Chow 3-1 in the quarters and the fourth seed, Theo Kniep from Berkshire, in five games.

In the singles of Cadet Girls there was another victory for Hannah Saunders, without the loss of a match. In the last Saunders, the unpredicted Senuli Ranasinghe from Norfolk defeated. In the semi -final, Ranasinghe defeated Charlotte Lok Wong from Warwickshire in five games.

The singles of the boys under the age of 13 were won by the third seed, Li Hao Chen from Archway, who defeated the second seed, Lev Sahmurov from Middlesex, in five games in the final. Chen defeated the best seed lusio wen from medesex in straight games in the semi -final.

The girls of the girls under 13 were won by Senuli Ranasinghe who defeated the best seed Cindy Xiao by Peterborough in straight matches in the final. Ranasinghe had a narrow match in her semi-final against Ormesby’s Mindy Gao before he won 3-1.

The event under 11 was a mixed competition and was won by Lok Hei Lam from Cheshire, who defeated Stefan Wierszyllowski from Lancashire in four Close matches.

The Junior Boys team event was a success for Drumchapel that Ellenborough defeated in the final. Marcel Ndongola was the star of the match that both singles won for Ellenborough, but this was not enough to claim the title. Drumchapel also excelled in the semi-final and defeated the Ormesby team with 3-0, while Ellenborough Fusion defeated the same score in their semi-final.

The Junior Girls team event was played as a Round-Robin group. The winners who were Grantham, with Ella Pashley and Lowri Hurd Die Draycott (Naomi Coker and Eva Eccles) beat in the final with 3-0. The victory for Grantham was convincing when only one of the three games went to four games, when Hurd Eccles beat in the fourth.

The Cadet Boys’ team was won by Archway Peterborough Die defeated Grantham 3-1 in the final. Kai Lun Chow won all his team competitions for Archway, including a 14-12 in the fourth match about Hector Alarcon to win the victory. Both Archway and Grantham won their matches 3-0 on their way to the final.

The title of the Cadet Girls was won by Drumchapel Die Scarborough defeated 3-0 in the final. Only one set went to a fourth game when Kiishi Adekola van Drumchapel Phoebe O’Brien defeated 16-14.
