Recent reports claim that City are drawing up contingency plans in case the manager decides to leave at the end of this season.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is reportedly seriously considering replacing Guardiola, whose contract runs until 2027.
Pep Guardiola delivers a clear message about Man City’s future
However, Guardiola says he wants to continue in his role “as long as possible”.
“I am happy here, I want to stay here. What can I say? It is always the results that decide,” he said at his press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match with West Ham United.
“When the (end of the) chapter is reached, the club will choose the best to continue this incredible period at Man City.
“There have been many rumors in recent years, but I want to stay here. We will see at the end of the season.”
“I’m excited because there is a margin to improve, to do better. That’s what I like.
“Last season was a very, very tough season and I didn’t give up and I was there. This season is much better in terms of a lot of things I see and still I’m here.
“It depends on my feelings and my feeling is good at the moment. That’s why I want to continue.
“It’s going to change? Maybe I don’t know. But what I feel now is not that. What I feel now is that I want to continue with the players as much and as long as possible.”
