PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi moves the Asia Cup trophy to a secret location from the ACC headquarters

The Asia Cup trophy is still not in India’s hands almost a month after their victory. According to reports, ACC president and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has moved the trophy from the ACC headquarters in Dubai to an undisclosed location in Abu Dhabi.

India won the Asia Cup on September 28, 2025, beating Pakistan in the final. But the official transfer has not yet taken place. Sources say a BCCI official recently visited the ACC office in Dubai and was informed that the trophy is now under Naqvi’s control in Abu Dhabi.

This is the latest twist in an already dramatic situation. India had refused to receive the trophy directly from Naqvi after the final. Since then, Naqvi has imposed several conditions on awarding the trophy to the winners.

Earlier, according to reports, the trophy was locked up at the ACC office at the ICC Academy complex in Dubai. Officials claim it could not be removed without Naqvi’s approval. The BCCI has officially requested the ACC to hand over the trophy to India, but there has been no formal response.

Naqvi has suggested a proper handover ceremony and said the trophy will be awarded only when a player comes to receive it. This has deepened the deadlock and caused confusion around the Asia Cup celebrations.
